I walked a mile with Pleasure; She chatted all the way; But left me none the wiser for all she had to say. I walked a mile with Sorrow, And ne’er a word said she; but, Oh! the things I learned from her, when sorrow walked with me. ~Robert Browning

Coal River ~ Tornado, WV
Over the river and through the woods to Grandma's house we go...
My Amazing Grandfather has spent the past year in heaven. This 1 year mark brings the Barton family together for tears and laughter, hugs and good food. Very thankful for the heritage God gave me and for my sister and brother who share that heritage with me. So proud of who they have chosen to become and how they have allowed Jesus to direct it all.
There were many small ways the Lord brought peace and comfort. This came to me as we prepared ourselves to let go of our family's patriarch.
What "Papaw" means to me:
Fried bologna sandwiches w Tabasco, learning to tie shoes, sitting in lap while driving, strength, provider, letting me help in the garden - even if it gives more work then help, home made vegetable soup, pizza boxes filled with nuts & bolts and strong hands, doodles on newspaper margins and warm hugs but most of all it means love - a never ending love that continues to grow through eternity. Thank you for teaching me the meaning of "Papaw".
Other's had wonderfully inspired words that gave peace. Really looking forward to family time and celebrating what God has given us!
