I walked a mile with Pleasure; She chatted all the way; But left me none the wiser for all she had to say. I walked a mile with Sorrow, And ne’er a word said she; but, Oh! the things I learned from her, when sorrow walked with me. ~Robert Browning

Relational

Woke up having an old relational struggle that I long ago conquered, rearing up in my heart.  Knowing this battle had been won but feeling the pain all over again, I talked to my closest confidant. ~ Jesus, I do not want to relive this pain.  You brought me through this before and I know I have grown in spirit and maturity so why does this attack feel so personal all over again?  I give this to you, and trust.

Off to Sunday morning church I go pondering and praying.

Pastor Thomas shared and once again, it was exactly the words my heart needed to hear.  Let us see if I can possible relay it half as well as he did...

Looking over the stories of  David and Goliath and Joseph there came the words of growth I needed.  Shepherd boy David chose 5 stones before he stood against Goliath.  David knew the war would not be over with the slaying of one giant with 1 stone.  That battle would be won but there were 4 other sons of Goliath to battle.  As he won the victory for the Lord over Goliath he was still prepared to face the very same battle 4 times over.  In another battle, now King, David grew faint and his mighty men slew the giants that had come for him.  We see that in our relationships comes victory over giants in our lives.

Joseph had a dream.  Then he was thrown into a pit, sold in slavery, rose above the slavery, thrown into jail and prospered in jail, and all along the way he was learning how to manage people, food sources and make wise choices for the prosperity of the ones he served which are precisely the tools he needed to learn in order to fulfill the dream he had and become second in command over Egypt.  After overcoming the first pit he may have thought that battle was over but another pit came along.  Looked just like the first one, but there was no room for a pit in Joseph's dream!

A friend spoke of how she had walked in peace instead of pushing forward to accomplish, (accomplish good things but), things that were not hers to handle.  When stepping out and trying to take care of this and that, causing yourself stress and frustrations and failed expectations it may result in ruining your peace and joy, and rob others of theirs. Someone else had the anointing to properly and peacefully handle this and that and by pushing forth to accomplish they got stomped over causing rifts instead of joy.

So these three points flowed from the heart of God into mine and put to rest my personal relationship battles.  Knowing that the people I connect with and love will be the ones who will help me in my trying times (and vice versa) and that no matter how many times I walk down a similar path, it is there to help me learn and achieve my dreams and lastly, walking in what I'm given not in what I perceive I need to handle will save my peace and joy and others will prosper in their peace and joy.

Just a thoughtful note, a planted seed, may it help someone else along their way.
