I walked a mile with Pleasure; She chatted all the way; But left me none the wiser for all she had to say. I walked a mile with Sorrow, And ne’er a word said she; but, Oh! the things I learned from her, when sorrow walked with me. ~Robert Browning

Answer the phone.

If Jesus calls you and says, "I need you to go around the block and stop by the grocery store."  I would like to think my response would be a resounding "Yes - Sure - On my way!".  After all it is a simple request.  Not out of my way.  I have plans to go that way today.  What if He asked me to stop by Mrs. Betty's place and say a prayer for her and have a cup of tea?  Well, now...I have my own agenda today Lord.  I need to pick up the dry cleaning, kids from school and new shoes for Jacob because he has outgrown his old ones.  Then there is dinner, vacuuming and fixing the door hinges in the basement.  I don't have time for tea.  Jesus, don't you know how much I have to do?  I have money to buy those shoes but I can't do anything extra.

Guess I just left that phone ringing .... and ringing ....

I have faith that Jesus has the best in His hands for my life.  He called me when I was 8 years old and welcomed me with open arms.  He set my path.  Took Mama home and set her free from a broken body.  He chose a man to stand beside me through my life and blessed us with two children.  He guided our feet through heartbreaks and joys and His faithfulness has become my safe place to rest.  Because no matter the storm I rest in His hands.  In reviewing His part in my past I gain strength and faith for my future.  So why wouldn't I go have tea and prayer when he asks?  Why in the world would I ever think my agenda would be more important?
If Jesus calls me to say His best is waiting for me today and I need to go to that church on the hill.  Then I want my heart's only response to be, "On My Way."  Far be it for me to think I know better then the one who created me and crafted my life since birth.  Far be it for me to think, "But Jesus, you know what those people said to me!?!"  Not only does He know, but He knows the intent of the heart and the blessings that are waiting.

Jesus I want to answer your call.  Everyday.

Psalms 40: 5-8
Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare. ......... Then I said. "Here I am, I have come - it is written about me in the scroll. I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart."
