I walked a mile with Pleasure; She chatted all the way; But left me none the wiser for all she had to say. I walked a mile with Sorrow, And ne’er a word said she; but, Oh! the things I learned from her, when sorrow walked with me. ~Robert Browning

Milk & Bread

With gas and grocery prices going up, saving money becomes even more crucial in family's tight budgets.

I stopped at my local market last night on my way home from church and got a bit of a sticker shock over the prices in the store! That bottle of vitamin water used to be on sale for $1.00 now is ON SALE for $1.50! How is that a sale? I snagged BOGO chicken tenders and some chicken leg quarters for BBQing on sale for .59cents a pound. Already have BBQ sauce thanks to my pantry. Picked up some milk on sale and discounted bread from the deli/bakery to make hoagies at home and my grand total was $111.00. Then my coupons and bonus card buys came off and I paid $57.00 for a few small bags of groceries. Yes I had meat and milk but I was still shocked at the beginning price.

If my pantry and fridge are going to stay stocked with food for a family of 4 and 1 dog, I have to keep up with coupons and sales or we will go broke!

I would like to take a moment to say THANK YOU to Sunshine, Jess, Aunt Renee and Southern Saver's Jenny for all you've taught me, been patient listening to me and hanging out at classes with me while I endeavor to change my brain's wiring to save money.

  1. Are you kidding? You're the one that's been teaching me and encouraging me to coupon. You, Sharon Key, are one of my coupon heroes!
